How much does a website cost in 2026? Prices and hidden costs
How much does a website cost in 2026? My prices and market ranges for a simple site, a business website and a store, plus hidden costs: domain, hosting, SEO.
The most honest short answer to the question “how much does a website cost?” is: from around PLN 1,500 to several tens of thousands of zlotys. But such an answer helps nobody. So in this text I break the cost into parts: I show my prices, the market ranges from 2026 and the expenses that only appear after the website goes live.
All amounts are net. I add 23% VAT to the invoice, so a website for PLN 1,490 net costs PLN 1,833 gross.
Website prices in 2026
I gathered the market ranges in October 2026 from the price lists of agencies and freelancers, industry articles and quote portals. The sources do not always say whether they give net or gross prices, and some of the amounts rest on single quotes. Treat them as a reference point, not as a price list for the whole market.
| Type of website | With me (net) | Market: cheap / typical / expensive |
|---|---|---|
| Simple website on a ready-made theme | from PLN 1,490 | PLN 1,500 / 2,000–2,500 / 4,500 |
| Landing page | from PLN 1,900 | PLN 1,500 / 2,000–3,000 / 5,000–6,000 |
| Business website with a custom design | from PLN 4,900 | PLN 3,500–4,500 / 6,000–9,000 / 15,000–20,000 |
| Custom-built website (own code) | from PLN 6,900 | PLN 6,000–18,000, systems and portals from PLN 15,000 |
| Store on WooCommerce or Shopify | from PLN 5,900 | PLN 3,900–5,000 / 9,000–18,000 / 18,000–40,000 |
| Store on a custom engine | from PLN 14,900 | PLN 20,000 / 36,000–65,000 / over 100,000 |
| Redesign of an existing website | from PLN 2,900 | PLN 2,800–6,500 (single quotes) |
Starter website: a simple business card
A ready-made theme adapted to your industry, a few sections, contact details and submission to Google, Google Maps and Bing. It is enough for a business that gets customers mainly through referrals and needs an address to send them to. Analytics (GA4) is not included at this price, but you can add it. You will find the details in the description of the Starter website service.
Landing page
One page for one service or campaign. It makes sense when you pay for traffic from Google Ads and want that traffic to land on a page with a form and a phone number, not on a home page with ten tabs. I prepare a landing page for measuring inquiries from the start.
Turnkey business website
A custom graphic design, several subpages, a panel for editing the content yourself, a mobile version and basic SEO. The base price includes 5 subpages, and each additional one costs PLN 390. More about this option: turnkey business website.
Custom-built website
This is the choice when you need something that can’t reasonably be done on a ready-made theme: an integration with a company system, a configurator or unusual logic. An example is Drzwi Giżycko: a configurator of 27 types of doors based on the manufacturer’s data, an AI chat and inquiries sent straight to the WAPRO system. More: custom-built website.
Online store
A store on WooCommerce or Shopify starts at PLN 5,900 with me. A custom engine, from PLN 14,900, makes sense when a ready-made platform limits you with its features or fees. Sklep Żukowscy runs on such an engine: about 13,000 products whose stock levels and prices flow in automatically from the wholesaler, PayU payments, a feed to Google Merchant and an AI assistant that adds products to the cart at the customer’s request. More: online store.
What affects the price of a website
Two websites “with five subpages” can differ in price several times over. Six things usually decide it:
- Graphic design. A ready-made theme is cheaper, but it looks similar to hundreds of other sites. A custom design is created from scratch for your industry and your customers.
- Number of subpages. Every subpage is a layout, content and tests on phones. With me, above 5 subpages you pay PLN 390 for each.
- Features. A price calculator costs from PLN 1,900, a 2D configurator from PLN 4,900 and a 3D one from PLN 9,900. Online payments on a CMS start at PLN 490, and a ready-made booking system at PLN 990.
- Languages. Each additional language starts at PLN 1,490, because besides the translation you need separate addresses and SEO for each version.
- Content. If you provide ready texts and photos, you pay less. Texts from me cost PLN 290 per subpage.
- Deadline. A rush order adds 30% to the one-time amount.
Example: a business website with 5 subpages, for which I write the texts, is PLN 4,900 + 5 × PLN 290, that is from PLN 6,350 net. You can work out your own variant in the cost calculator.
Delivery usually takes 2 to 6 weeks. The time depends on the number of subpages, the features and whether the content is ready.
Costs that few people mention at the start
The price of building is a one-time expense. A website also costs money every year and every month. These items are worth having in the budget from day one.
Domain
A .pl domain in the first year often costs a few or a dozen or so zlotys, but its renewal is usually PLN 60–240 net per year. Before you buy a domain for PLN 1, check the renewal price. And make sure the domain is registered to you, not to the contractor.
Hosting
Shared hosting after the promotional period usually costs PLN 130–900 per year (most often PLN 250–520), managed hosting for WordPress PLN 800–1,800, and a VPS server PLN 700–2,400. With me, a .pl domain, a server in Poland or the EU and an SSL certificate are a separate service from PLN 390 per year, under which I can also set up email on your company domain. If you already have a domain and a server, you can stay with your current provider. I describe the prices of specific providers and the traps of promotions in the guide Annual cost of maintaining a business website.
Technical maintenance
A WordPress site without updates becomes an easy target for attacks over time. Market maintenance subscriptions cost from about PLN 150 to 1,700 per month, depending on the scope. My technical maintenance starts at PLN 149 per month: updates, backups, small changes and a response to reports.
SEO and visibility
A website will not bring in traffic from Google on its own. Basic technical SEO is included in the price of a business website, but regular SEO is a separate service. Local SEO usually costs PLN 800–2,500 per month on the market, and with me from PLN 790 per month. Often overlooked is the Google Business Profile in Google Maps: setting it up on Google is free, and at most you pay for the optimization work.
Analytics
Without analytics you don’t know whether the website brings in customers. GA4 with Tag Manager and tracking of phone calls and forms usually costs PLN 1,800–2,800 on the market, and with me from PLN 990. The cheapest Starter package has no analytics, so it is worth adding to the budget.
Texts and photos
Copywriting in 2026 costs from about PLN 30 to 300 per 1,000 characters, depending on quality and industry. The lowest rates may mean AI-generated text without editing. Real photos of your projects and team will tell customers more than stock photos. With me, texts cost from PLN 59 per 1,000 characters, and graphics from PLN 79 each.
Running costs: payments, licenses, AI
A payment provider charges a commission on transactions. Paid themes and plugins have annual licenses. Shopify has a subscription: the Basic plan is about PLN 79–109 per month. An AI chatbot also has a monthly cost, because you pay the AI model provider for every conversation. With me it is from PLN 199 per month after deployment.
Regulations, if you sell online
A store has more obligations than a business website:
- since 13 December 2024 the GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) applies, so for a product you have to give the manufacturer’s details and safety information,
- for discounts you show the lowest price from the 30 days before the reduction (the Omnibus Directive),
- since 28 June 2025 many stores have to meet the accessibility requirements of the European Accessibility Act (micro-enterprises providing services are exempt),
- if the store issues invoices to businesses itself, it needs an integration with KSeF (Krajowy System e-Faktur, Poland’s national e-invoicing system), which became mandatory for most businesses in 2026.
The platform handles part of this, and part has to be added. The terms and conditions and the privacy policy should be prepared by a lawyer. If you already have a store, I can check it as part of a compliance audit from PLN 1,290.
How to compare offers
The cheapest offer can be a good one if you know what you are getting. Before you sign a contract, ask about five things:
- Will the domain be registered to you?
- Will you get access to the panel, the server and the code? With me, the code stays the client’s property.
- What exactly is included in the price: how many subpages, how many rounds of revisions, texts, analytics? With me, two rounds of design revisions are included.
- How much will maintenance cost after the first year: domain, hosting, licenses, technical maintenance?
- Who will fix the website, and how fast, when it stops working?
A website builder on a subscription of a few dozen zlotys a month is also a reasonable option if you need a simple business card and you don’t care about appearance or Google rankings. When a website is supposed to bring in inquiries, the result is decided by the design, the content and the tracking of results.
