What I compare
Six things customers use to choose a business.
A customer types in a service and a city and looks at the top results, ratings and website. I check exactly the same things for you and your competitors.
Position on Google Maps
The order of businesses for your phrase and city: whether you are in the top three, the top ten or not there at all.
Ratings and reviews
Average rating and number of reviews compared with the local median, and how far you are behind the leader.
Business Profile
Whether the business has a website, phone number, opening hours and photos in its profile.
Website
HTTPS, mobile version, title and description in Google, business data, click-to-call phone number and contact form.
Speed
Google PageSpeed mobile score for your website and the websites of your strongest competitors.
Marketing
Who measures website traffic and who is probably advertising, because they have Google Ads or Meta tags.
Questions about the competitor audit
From Google Maps, via the official Google API: name, rating, number of reviews, website, phone, opening hours and photos in the profile. My bot checks the businesses’ websites and Google PageSpeed Insights measures their speed. I don’t download the content of reviews.
Google adjusts results to where you are standing and to your search history. The ranking in the analysis shows results for the phrase with the city name, without these adjustments, so it reflects well what most customers see.
No. The bot only downloads the home page, just like a regular visitor, and identifies itself as RobimyWebAudit. It leaves no information about who ordered the analysis.
I don’t store the business data from Google: the analysis disappears when you close the page, but you can print it or save it as a PDF. I keep the phrase, city and a hash of your IP address for 30 days to enforce the limits. Details are in the privacy policy.
Two per hour and five per day. Each analysis uses paid Google data, so the limits protect the tool from abuse. If you need more, or a full market analysis with competitors’ prices and ads, write to me.
The RobimyWebAudit bot
It visits the websites of up to seven businesses from the analysis: each only once, downloading just the home page. It identifies itself as RobimyWebAudit/1.0, doesn’t index pages and doesn’t store their content. More about the bot.
